Best Winter Golf in Jeju: Jungmun Golf Club Review (Cost, Weather & Tips)

Planning a golf trip to Jeju Island in winter? Many golfers worry about strong coastal winds, but Jungmun Golf Club is a hidden gem. Thanks to Hallasan, which blocks the cold northerly winds, Seogwipo is typically 3–4°C warmer than Jeju City.

Here’s my real review from a February 2026 round.

▶ Location & Accessibility

Jungmun Golf Club is located next to the Jungmun Tourist Complex, making it one of the most convenient courses for international travelers staying in Seogwipo.

Proximity to Major Hotels (5–10 minutes by taxi):

  • The Shilla Jeju
  • Lotte Hotel Jeju
  • Parnas Hotel Jeju

Taxis are affordable and easy to use. If you’re staying in Jungmun, transportation is effortless.

▶ Round Costs (As of February 2026)

Jungmun GC is a public course operated by the Korea Tourism Organization, offering reasonable pricing compared to private clubs in Korea.

  • Green Fee + Cart Fee: Approx. 121,000 KRW per person
  • Caddie Fee: 150,000 KRW per team (paid in cash directly to the caddie)

For a group of four players, the estimated cost per person is approximately 158,500 KRW, including shared caddie fees.

Important Notes for Foreign Golfers:

  • Most Korean golf courses require 4 players per group.
  • The cart is mandatory and included in the listed price.
  • Having a caddie is mandatory at almost all Korean courses, including Jungmun.

Winter tee times are highly competitive. Advance booking is strongly recommended, especially on weekends.

▶ Winter Weather & What to Wear

Even if it snows in northern Jeju, Jungmun often feels like early spring.

During my February round:

  • Temperature: Above 10°C (50°F)
  • Wind: Minimal

Recommended Clothing

Layering works best:

  • Thermal base layer
  • Light sweater or mid-layer
  • Windbreaker (just in case)

A heavy down jacket is usually unnecessary during daytime rounds.

▶ Course & Green Conditions

“Romantic Ocean Views, but Surprisingly Challenging Greens”

The course is known for its stunning ocean scenery, but don’t let the views distract you.

Fairways:
Grass is trimmed short in winter, which means clean ball striking is essential.

Greens:
Fast and tricky. Watch out for the famous “Halla-san Break.” Because the mountain and ocean affect visual perception, putts may appear uphill when they actually break toward the sea.

👉 Trust your caddie more than your eyes.

▶ Clubhouse Atmosphere

The clubhouse has a classic, cozy feel rather than ultra-modern luxury. It is well maintained and clean, with palm trees visible from the lobby, giving it a tropical resort vibe.

  • Locker rooms: Spacious and clean
  • Shower facilities: Well maintained
  • Restaurant: Serves traditional Korean-style golf course meals

International visitors should note that Korean golf culture includes showering after the round before heading to dinner.

▶ Essential Tip: Self-Service Bag Loading

This is crucial for first-time visitors.

Unlike many high-end Korean private clubs, Jungmun GC operates on a self-service bag loading system.

After your round:

  • Retrieve your golf bag from the Drop Zone area.
  • Load it into your car or taxi yourself.
  • Staff will not assist with loading.

This surprises many first-time foreign golfers.

▶ Final Thoughts

For international golfers looking for:

  • Mild winter weather
  • Ocean views
  • Convenient hotel access
  • Reasonable pricing

Jungmun Golf Club is one of the safest and easiest choices in Jeju.

If you’re staying in Jungmun and want a stress-free winter round without long travel time, this course is hard to beat.
